Need help for prolonged itching

Here's the short version:

I have been itching all over for the past six weeks. After two weeks, I broke out into a rash patch on my chest (looks like an inverted triangle, flat and dark brown). Around the same time, my joints began to ache and I could barely walk. Pain was symmetrical (if right ankle hurt, left ankle hurt in the same spot). Also had a severe sore throat and could not swallow for 3-4 days). All pains disappeared in about a week with aspirin and pseudophedrine.

Now I'm left with itching again. Mostly near spine and both arms. Blood test have shown abnormal reading for liver, but all subsequent tests have been negative. Will have ultrasound in two weeks. Four weeks ago, I began taking herbs to cleanse the liver and colon, drinking lots of water, and avoiding dairy, red meat, etc. I bathe in Aveeno oatmeal bath, use fragrance free soaps and lotions, and hydrocortisone cream. So far, relief is very temporary.

Is there anything else I can do until I get a diagnosis? Any natural remedies that really cure itching? Please help!
