Jessers,
If your blood levels are tested as low, that could mean that your body had stored all the "free-roaming" mercury--like that which would be found in the blood--in your tissues and organs. I believe there is a urine test that is more accurate, because mercury in the body causes a certain something to be released in the urine. Poly-something or other.
