Mom won't talk about Myeloma

My mom was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma in July 2003. She gets chemo monthly but won't talk about the severity or the progression of the disease. She is 74 and has other health problems including diabetes, etc... I have researched Multiple Myeloma but have found only the basic information (diagnosis, treatments, etc.), however, I am curious to know if anyone has any information about possible cures,"Miraculous" recoveries (seriously!) or anything other than the basics so I can understand what she is dealing with and how to help her without pressuring her for more information. My dad died a year ago in February and I am looking for a little ray of hope that I can look forward to years of arguing with my mom about how to raise my child:) Thanks!
