Re: Mercury exposure
Timc24, I'm new to this forum, but I wanted to say that what you're experiencing is exactly, *exactly* what I went through when my normal dentist recently filed down a mercury-filled tooth to put a crown on it.
I was SO ill I could not get out of bed for two weeks - couldn't think, couldn't function, heart pounding, chest hurting, neck hurting and swollen glands, brain fog and an awful emotional feeling like it really was the end of the world or something. The night after it was done, I actually had a brief panic that I was going to die and that if I went to sleep I wouldn't wake up.
I've since found out that drilling into a mercury filling releases massive amounts of mercury vapour which can make a person very sick in exactly this way. If your dentist didnt' take precautions like giving you a separate air supply to breathe through and using large amounts of water to irrigate the drilling (to cool it down so it doesn't emit so much vapour) then I think its very likely you have mercury poisoning from your experience.
I took selenium tablets which helped a LOT and got me back on my feet within a week. However, I've since found out that these arent' totally recommended since it "locks up" the mercury in the body (the mercury isnt' doing as much harm when combined with selenium but is then much more difficult to excrete later).
Two days ago I had an appointment with a "biological" dentist who took out the same tooth with all the proper precautions and I didnt have any reaction at all afterwards, so I think it makes a huge difference how it's handled.
I hope this helps. I'd really recommend looking at different supplements to take and maybe getting an appointment with a naturopath who knows about mercury poisoning.
