veggies help digest protein?

in a effort to help increase healthy muscular weight gain,
i am considering eating three high protein meals a day.
I don't do too well on carbs, so i stick to veges and meats.

i notice that when i eat a high protein meal with a large serving
of high fiber vegetables, i notice that i don't get constipated as
when i eat the protein alone. There is a connection-because of the added fiber
with the meal , but i thought protein needs an acidic enviroment in
or to fully digest? dosen't the veggies alkanize the stomach also?

i am just curious, i want to add more protein for a few weeks to
increase weight gain and then back off.I just don't do back up my entire
system in the process.
also, if i ate a big salad with a meal consisting of pizza, will it
help digest the pizza? pizza tends to really 'glog the plumbing', if you know what i mean.
thanks
(:
