Re: Fighting sugar and caffeine cravings...
Hello -
Cravings & addictions to stimulants are a big, multifaceted topic that I cover more extensively in my book, "If It's Not Food, Don't Eat It!"

Also, as I mentioned in an earlier post, I will have Part I of an article on this topic posted on my website and be sending it out in my e-zine in the near future, so you can check there or sign up for my e-zine and have it sent to you.
In the mean time, here is some info to get you started...
Most cravings stem from one or more of the following, usually all three:
1 - lack of adequate nutrition
2 - imbalanced biochemistry, particularly blood sugar
3 - need for cleansing
Address all three of these issues and the cravings go away - seriously!
With regard to caffienated sodas in particular, it would be wise to focus on balancing your blood sugar as both the sugar and also the caffiene - which most people don't know - contained in them cause imbalanced blood sugar.
Here are some quick tips for balancing blood sugar, keeping in mind the BEST thing for this is to get off the sugar and caffeine by going through the withdrawal symptoms and get to the other side of the addiction (help with this in my book) and also do the following:
Keep Your Blood Sugar Balanced ~
Imbalanced blood sugar is one of the primary causes of fatigue, brain fog, cravings, depression, irritability, weight gain and more. To help balance blood sugar…
·Eliminate or relegate stimulants to rare occasions, including: caffeine, chocolate, refined salt, alcohol and refined carbohydrates (sugars, high fructose corn syrup, white refined flour, etc.)
·Eat animal protein or whole grains within an hour of waking and nothing sweet
·Eat regular meals and feed sugar cravings with protein or whole grains - nothing sweet
·Take Just Barley “green food” supplement daily - avail at health food stores and online
Following all of the above will help you tremendously with the cravings you are experiencing. When your blood sugar stabilizes and your system is stronger, you will then be able to slack up a bit on the above.
If you need more help, I also have a couple of teleclass programs coming up soon that you may consider. For info, go to:

Hope that helps!
