The combination of citrus fruits and veggies would be a no-no. Apples are a fruit that can be mixed safely with vegetables like carrots, celery, spinach etc. Remember though that really sweet fruits and underground roots like carrots and beets should be avoided or curtailed due to their high sugar content and subsequent raising of insulin levels, best to use them sparingly to add a touch of palatability to the strong or bitter veggies.
