Re: Reading on my HD TV
After reading Boldyloxx's message about the dangers of HD TV's, I took my CellSensor EMF/ELF meter and measured the emf strength on my Toshiba 41" Cinema series HD tv. I found the highest reading while touching the front of the tv with the sensor on my meter. The reading, after doing the calculations read 2.79 milliguass. Then, at the same location in front of the tv, I backed up about 2 feet and took another reading. That reading measured 1.6 milliguass. Backing up to where I sit which is about 10 feet away, the reading was 1.5. That number did not change at all when turning off the TV. I have a lot of stereo equipment and twice the electrical outlets of a normal house, so that number was the ambient emf in the center of the room.
Generally, anything under 2 milliguass is considered safe. Some go as high as 3 milliguass for a safe limit.
My conclusion on HD TV's is unless you are watching with your body touching the front of the TV, I don't see how you could be damaging yourself in any way. There are hot spots in my house, but if you move even a foot or two away, the potential damage is reduced dramatically. I would highly recommend the Cellsensor to anyone who wants to know the hotspots in their house to avoid spending much time in those areas.
