Re: lol omg

On the outside chance that this could be a biological weapon that got loose or was released, I am interested in keeping my ear to the rail so-to-speak...the threat of martial law and quarantine could be construed as *convenient* for the current administration which seems bent on limiting civil liberties, however, in reality, if that does happen, we still need to be prepared and be discernful of the BS and the reality of the logistics of still carrying on with the limitations we would face if martial law was implemented.

I live in the country, and if the birds that fly around out here in droves start dropping dead...I'm putting on a mask. We cannot count on the government to help. Evidenced by the reaction of FEMA to the last three major hurricanes.

You think Bush has control but he cant even keep the White House from hinting he's the *bad guy*...if this hits, he will not be able to control the civil unrest, nor will there be enough military to keep the country functioning at a level anywhere near where we are now. Anyway, my hopes lie in that it is all balderdash and that we dodge the proverbial bullet.

There is an old Indian adage that says, "Call on God (or Great Spirit), but steer away from the rocks". There used to be a law which called for the US to have the equivalent of 3 years worth of food/water for each man, woman, and child stored. That law failed and they weaseled it so they count the food on the shelves in the stores and what is in your cupboard. The government is not prepared!

Not withstanding bird flu, if any major catastrophe happened, you think you could just go out and find food but living in Texas, in the aftermath of Hurricane Rita, we discovered rolling power outtages meant you could not even buy the food on the shelves since you could not check out without the computers and short of stealing, you were up a creek without....and unable to fight the traffic leaving & then returning to the area, mail and shipping/deliveries to stores/homes stopped and so even in the Wal-Mart supercenter, shelves were empty. Bush wasnt there to help then and he wont be a hero to anyone at any time to come soon. IMHO...

It wont be fancy but I'm stocking up on basics and pray that I will never again be in denial or in some real catastrophe where I am waiting for the government to stop by with a CARE package of anything....

Peace
