Re: Do my kids need Flouride?
If you want my honest opinion, I'll give it. I say absolutely do not, under any circumstances, feed your children those tablets unless you want to take the chance of their adult teeth looking like the teeth in this forum
Image Gallery and possibly spending thousands on cosmetic restoration later in life.
I have a 6 year old daughter and I don't allow them to use fluoride on her teeth at the dentist and I buy baby toothpaste that doesn't contain fluoride. I may go to extremes but to me, the scary thing is that if fluoride does that to teeth it also does it to their little bones.
Fluoride binds to calcium and weakens it in the body. There have been NO scientific studies done on the efficacy or necessity of taking fluoride internally. In fact, all there is is speculation on its obvious hazards. There are poison control warnings on toothpaste tubes now, if you look at them, the only reason the warning is there is because of fluoride in the toothpaste.
From a mother, if you want to protect your children, don't give them this poison. It doesn't matter what your dentist tells you. Just make sure they brush their teeth after every meal and don't eat lots of sweets.
