I live down here in Pinellas Park were all this is going on and for me I see it as a issue of credibility.
Can we trust the word of micheal schiiavo?
What do you do when the person in your life that is responsible for this decision does not have your best interest at heart.
I ran into simular situation in my life.
I had a close friend that was up in age and his daughter that was responsible for making life decisions for him absolutley hated him and was so conserned about getting his house when he died ,I think she helped to speed the process.
When he was at a local hospital visiting his wife ,a local nurse ask him to sit down in a room because he was winded from the walk.
They contacted his daughted and she said he should be commited and is basically wacky in the head[wich was so far from the truth.
When I got down there he was all drugged up and on a bunch of drugs and strpped down against his will.
I tried to do everything I could to get him released either to the VA or back home ,but since I wasnt a family member I could do nothing ,even though ,these were his wishes that he expressed to me.
After a week of being held against his will and drugged up and all the stress that he experianced from that ,he died.
And the daughter got what she wanted.
Anyway, the point is put your final wishes in writing ,so there wont be any question wether you acting family member is motivated by love or greed.
