I'd like to know where you read
that chlorella takes 10 years to
chelate metals from the body.
________________________________
I have not. I believe I said DMSA takes about 10 years. Not that you should take it every day…as you know. And I do belief that 10 years is the quoted standard for mercury detox on the net. 67+ years being if you do no chelation. DMSA is a pharmacological chelator, the most modern one at that. Well maybe not. There is NDF right? My research is flaky on that. My concern about chlorella is the fact that chlorella is known to be contaminated with mercury. If I have to elaborate on this... How can you be sure your supplement is not? This is just something that plagues chlorella. This is the question in my mind. Like I said, if you can have it tested...that would be one way to know. Perhaps you have a better way...like reading the label.

You say several times, "Look
it up." I'll be glad to do that.
Please provide me with your sources.

I will give you several sources. I have about 150 links Owen scattered on 2 computers and 3 operating systems. But instead of giving you that I will give you a couple of my favorite ones.
I am just getting to organizing this material but nothing I would say is definitive and conclusive. Hence the reason I say look it up!! Don't look to me to be an authority figure or know it all. I think this was my message in the post and I emphasize it again. There is no B&W and you know this. Yet it surprises me that people ignore some of the many of he most sound and basic of advice that IS available for free from Google.
It just gives me the hives when I hear Dr.XXX said this and Dr.XXX said that. "It is just a matter of who do you believe." NO, I think some people just demand higher standards. There is no one that deserves that type of respect in medicine. Get in the habit of looking everything up on Google. Every rumor. Because like you said Owen, it is in fact the "doctors" that are killing us. Yes I do know that doctors are the #1 cause of death in the USA...#3 according to their own admission in JAMA.
Taking things on faith is what got all of us here in the first place. I do not intent to kill myself through making the same mistake again. I just find it interesting that after such a hard lesson some people choose to deify certain non main stream individuals with questionable scientific processes behind them. There are in fact many schemers, cheater and down right criminals in the supplement and alternative medicinal industry. There are also some excellent sources that approach the subject with a scientific framework. No
Science is not to blame for us having
Amalgams but the opposite, no doing our own leg work and finding out what
Science had to say about it. Don’t make the same mistake again. Even a plumber could have told us not to do it…if we asked…never mix metals.
Procedure to look things up;
A)You can do a general search for detox and or mercury+detox. In the generalized articles you will find take notes about chemicals & concepts you don't know. 4 example I had no idea
coffee enema meant sticking a tube in your ass. Up until I looked it up, it sounded pretty good. Hence I will not do this. heh
B)After that, do a //specific// search for each substance like L-methionine. Then read as many pages as you can.
This is what I have been doing my friend for months and my sources are nothing more than these and the ideas I developed in this process. Nothing magical just what I have retained from my readings. Again, like I said this does not make it fact or even correct! /// Hence I said look it up because I don't want people to fall victim to miss advice by means of generalizations or rumors they hear on a forum or on 1 site that happens to sell the cure. /// Like the other guy that took the wrong form of selenium (that has no health benefits) for years in high doses and that is a substance that can kill at 900 Micrograms/day!! Yes...Look it up. You won't have to dig too deep. You will get many sites talking about it including gov't sites and even comments by the researches that originally did the first Selenium studies about the diff of the selenium they used and that you buy in the drug store.
Or people saying I got my
Amalgams out and feel great but never have a clue what composite they had put in. Why? Because white is good right? This is how things are in forums. Read the posts. The devil is always in the details.

I'd like to know where you read
that a "massive" one-foot long
bowel movement every day is considered healthy.
____________________________________________
A number of sources. The part of Europe I come from people love bread. The people have a very high fiber diet. Everyone (adults) has a 1 foot long bowel movement.
When I was in university, pre-med, we talked about this. NO, I switched to economics ;)
There are a number of studies on fiber and cancer. Look it up ;)
Including a study that stands out quite a bit. There are some tribes in Africa that eat some kind of leaf or bark or something that has and ultra high fiber content. I *%#&¤?§* you not Owen they have a 2 to 3 foot stool. It blows the mind. Anyway, they studied the tribes for some decades and found that they get 0 cases of intestinal, stomach, and related cancers. Such conditions just do not exist for them. There are a lot of studies, this just happens to be my favorite.
If you are chelating, it is just common sense that you should excrete as much as possible in the way of stool. 85% of the detox is done by the liver. I suppose 2 6inch movements per day are just as good, but I find that difficult to achieve. It is a lot easier to do one regular big one by eating lots of bread. Sorry this is getting gross. I find this easy on me and also I don't have to buy fiber drinks and other stuff with god only knows what is in them...

I'd like to know why you think that
"none of these things" like cilantro
get mercury out.
______________________________________
I never said they are useless. I think you are taking it the wrong way Owen. What I was saying was that eating a substance that is known to have an affinity to mercury in nature DOES NOT EQUAL CHELATION. Hence eating does not get mercury out. Eating "things" that have an affinity for mercury is part of chelation but is not chelation. I think people miss this point in this forum and prob every other place.
This is what I think,
Take note,
What {{{ I }}} think modern chelation
should comprise;
1-- eating an uncontaminated food that is known to have an affinity to mercury in a dose that is consistent with your bodies ability to handle the freed mercury. (there are 3 concepts here.)
2-- Supporting your LIVER and kidney with supplements that promote kidney function.
3-- There will also be free radical damge to your liver so support you liver with supplements that are known to act as free radical scavengers FOR THE LIVER. This is to prevent cancer of the liver from all the free radical damage of mercury.
4-- A high dose, 3mg to 6Mg quality Vitamin C diet. This is to help fight the free radicals that are caused by the mercury making its way through your body. That is a lot of damage. Mercury is an element that causes cell death on contact.
5-- Taking L-methionine to help get mercury out of your brain and help keep it out. Take note, what can take it out can also help to get it in. This leads to 6.
6--Timing and co-coordinating the treatment scientifically. Things that act as transports of mercury across the blood brain barrier should most probably not be taken when you have more mercury in your blood than your brain. Now I am now DOCTOR but I think high school biology would agree ;) This is my own opinion. These things are best taken when you have relatively low consecration of free mercury in your blood stream. Eating a carrier like L-methionine and L-gluthionine will transport out some of the mercury to establish equilibrium. At this time you want to grab up the mercury with something that has a much higher affinity to it than the two amino acids and finish it off by excreting it with a fiber flush. All of these are my own ideas about things so...take it as is. But you can see that the concept of how timing is crucial. You should think in terms of the entire pathway not just chugging down cilantro.
7-- Taking L-gluthionine. Same benefits as L-methionine. The brain function and also they are precursors for energy production. You will need lots cause the constant high blood levels of mercury from chelation will suppress these substances (because they have an affinity for each other) and hence you wont have enough to produce energy.
8-- Alpha Lipolic acid and Yeast Selenium. They work synergistically with the 2 amino acids and Vit E.
9-- Hence you should take vitamin E. You need lots. 800UI/day at least. Promotes brain health and helps with detox not on its own but in synergy allows for the full benefits and activation of the others. If you run out of any one of these, the process will halt. More on this in link.
10-- Co Q 10. There are just so many benefits. It is also a powerful antioxidant.
11-- Promoting bowel movements. All is for nothing if you do not excrete the attached mercury. The more the better. I have no idea how you can get more...I just eat lots of bread and that works for me.
12-- Help your kidneys by drinking lots of water. An occasional beer can be fun too ;)
13-- You need to take something to prevent
kidney stones that you will get from all the Vit C.
14-- Monitor your results with well timed stool samples. Pay for it if you have to. You need incontrovertible absolute proof that
a) what you are doing is working
b) you are taking as much as possible without reaching the point very you feel ill effects.
So yes this will cost you a grand or two, so what. This is the only way you can fine tune your regimen and not waste years without achieving results worth speaking about cause you took too little, or didn't chelate just ate cilantro or chlorella or some other substance that has a high affinity in “nature” for mercury. Or maybe you chlorella was contaminated. Etc etc etc.
15-- Exercise. Yeah I left this for last.
That my friend is chelation.
Some cool links:
Ok you know what, I am not going to post any, my bookmarks are a real nightmare to navigate through, I didn’t name them I just added them and now I have too many and they are scattered on 3 operating systems.
Instead read my post bellow I posted some of my notes. You should double and triple check everything anyway like I always say. Hope they help. If not, sorry.
