You are correct, the users of leatrile still say the same about it that they did back in the 1970's.

Reportedly so, but is that what really killed him or was it just a scape-goat? I have heard many lies from the medical powers that be (Like antthing over 1000 IU of vitamin D a day is bad for you).

Most standard chemo uses platinum based drugs which are far more toxic than cyanide. Additionally, the amount of cyanide created by laetrile is relatively small unless you take a massive dose.
All of this aside, as stated by others here, quackwatch is the last place in the world that I would look to find valid information about anything. I do use it as a source of reference very frequently though. If I am interested in something and it is listed on quackwatch, I consider it to have reasonable validity.
