Question about fruit enzymes

I'm eating papaya and pineapple on daily basis in order to replace enzyme pills.
A cancer patient relative told me that the oncologist recomended no to take pineapple while in chemo. Why?
About papaya,... I wish it were organic but $$$$.. (are the seeds used in any way?),
