The brain was an all clear last time,
They want to get some scans done of chest,pelvis,and abdomin because Melanoma has a nasty reputation of spreading rapidly once it has entered the lymph system.
Its standard operating procedure.
The last set of scans were compared to a set of scans taken a year before.
The doc showed me and said,"as you can see there is considerable growth in this area right here"as he was pointing in a dark area just to the left of my hart.I said,"doc I cant see a difference","what is it".He said'"I cant be sure but I see considerable growth".
I then said,"Lets measure it and find out for sure".So he tried,But the angle i was in was different to the angle of the last scan so he said,"I cant get an accurate measurment with the different angles".So I said,"can the change in my position change the way it looks for size."He tells me,"considerably".Then I said,"So what is it doc,Is it considerably larger or just a change in angles."
Then this is the response I got wich is hard to believe,(not that hard).He said,"So would you like to start chemo now.some people can't sleep well at night if they feel they aren't being treated."I said No Thank You,I'll sleep just fine.Then he said, "this sort of thing would double in size in a month and the next scans would tell for sure."Now let me think a minute,If this thing doubles in size every month and you could see it a year ago,the latest comparrison scans should have had a tumor at least the size of a large grapefruit,Or about the size of my hart.
So thats where I stand,and thats why Im getting these last scans.If they are in the clear than we have another victory.Im positive this is just a waste of my time,But it will be proof once and for all.
