Re: Anyone here recovered from MP

I had a terrible time making the decision for mercury detox - a hate of dental procedure, thought of dentures,in my case, and financial cost was a big turn off. One point my doctor made is that if scientists wish to induce an autoimmune response in animals they subject them to mercury. It's really a long story but here's the short version

I have a history of hormone dependant Breast Cancer and autoimmune thyroid disease - ie: Graves Disease - both of which I trbute to mercury toxicity and toxic load from a large root canal cavitation. Additionally, there is a relationship between thyroid disease and breast cancer.
I had Amalgam and root canal removal under the care of a mercury-free dentist and a medical doctor specialising in enviromental medicine. This was followed by oral DMSA chelation which I had no problem with.
My initial dimavil urine challange test was 137 and is now 18 - below 20 is considered a level expected in a healthy population. All the antibodies associated with Graves disease - especially Thyroid Receptor Antidodies - have remained negative after slowly declining over about a 12 mth period.

I am now well with normal thyroid function - my only concern now being at increased risk of heart disease, osteoporosis, etc because of premature menopause from the 'slash and burn' mentality of current medical treatment. Western medicine advocates radioabaltion of the thyroid for graves disease and replacement with a synthetic hormone. For many this means suboptimal health for the rest of their lives. For me this wou-ld have been a double whammy.

I am very grateful to the internet for research available and for forums such as this one. If you like research based information this is a site I found useful - written by a chemical engineer , a subject most doctors and dentists should know alot more about:

I would never have attempted this without the care of the medical profesionals mentioned above.

What is your incentive for considering mercury removal? Knowing what I know personally I don't think people should chance the years of suboptimal health that can preceed overt illness.
