Some success
Hello
I've had the pleasure of
Psoriasis now for about a period of nine years. It has gradually worsened over time and i now have it on my arms legs, torso, scalp, ears - some areas much worse than others. Like most of you i have used lots of different precribed creams with limited success. I am now using a combination of Betnovate with coal tar in and Dovonex, which reduces the redness and flaking at least, though has done nothing to eliminate any patches.
Over the last year i have undergone two courses of phototherapy which actually worked. Trouble is the
Psoriasis reared its ugly head agin after a few months. Not all of my skin cleared, as the doctors are happy for you to be discharged with 5% coverage. Still I was thankful that my arms could be showed off for a while but my legs stayed firmly covered.
I did once manage to clear my skin by following an eating plan recommended by Sandra Gibbons - i think the book is called Healing Psoriasis. Although a success at clearing my skin it was a total failure nutritionally as i didn't have the time, energy or knowledge to plan and execute a well rounded, healthy diet. After about six months i caved in whilst at university and returned to the beer and pizza (not a
healthy Diet i know!)
It was too hard to stand around drinking mineral water while everyone else partied and the awful memory of
Psoriasis had faded so as to not be enough of a warning.
I am interested in cleansing my system and would be grateful of any advise you could give me as to how to go about this and maintain the diet without depriving myself of essential vitamins etc and also not depriviing my taste buds.
Many Thanks
