Re: Hi Shelley
Oh dear, your poor friend! is she getting regular blood tests done? Has she seen a kidney specialist? She needs a good one on her side. There are many poor kidneys doctors, so tell her to keep looking if she's not totally comfortable with the one she has.
Okay, first thing she needs to do is go on a special kidney diet. That means no black tea or coffee, very low protein, preferably just 2 eggs a day tops. No spinach, rhubarb, beets, asparagus, mushrooms, dairy. No meat or fish. She can't have anything high in purines, which means no beans or lentils except for mung beans. REstrict fat intake for about a week, but do take a fish oil supplement high in Omega 3 fatty acids, as this helps with inflammatory disorders. Bromelain is also good.
increase consumption of complex carbs - whole grain hot cereals and veggie soups, Kichadi, would be best. This increases the excretion of uric acid.
Limit fructose - this means limiting fruit juices (except for citrus or cranberry) and tropical fruits. Eat a serving of sour cherries each day.
The best kidney cleanser for her would be
Dr. Schulze 's recipe, which is mostly ACV, citrus and apple juice. Add some drops of Liquid Phosfood and that will dissolve most stones. If her calcium is hardening and causing calcium stones, she needs phosphorous to keep the calcium liquid. Here's a link that explains about that a bit:

See, if she has kidney stones, then she's not too acid, she's too alkaline. It's usually a very temporary condition, but it is much much worse than being too acid. She should equalize after about 3 days of phosfood supplementation, and that should be enough to dissolve the kidney stone.
IF her creatinine is within normal limits, she can take mild diuretics like parsley, but otherwise the only safe thing to do is to drink lots of fluids - provided she is excreting it okay and not swelling up. Uva Ursi helps with infection, and marshmallow helps to coat and soothe the tissues.
Hope that helps! :)
