Re: Need help for friend suffering after GB surgery, please.

Hello Tisha,

Marie Winston a detox and cleanse specialist from another
group I am in- once wrote to an enquiry from a person
without gallbladder. I can only share with you her advice..

Hope this will help your friend.

It is true that if your GB has been removed, you no longer
are capable of storing Bile to have sufficient quantity
available to digest a fatty meal. You must, therefore, eat
a low fat diet or take Ox Bile (or Bile Salts) with your
meals. Dr. Williams suggests that the GB also concentrates
the Bile as it comes from the Liver. This would make the
addition of the Ox Bile as a digestive aid even more
important.

If you are like most people and eat predominately cooked
foods, you would benefit greatly from taking an array of
digestive enzymes. Our bodies were designed to hold foods
in the upper part of our stomachs and let them self digest
about 50%, thru the action of enzymes contained in the food
itself. Our bodies would then only need to supply enough
enzymes to complete the digestive process in the lower
stomach. Cooking over 117F destroys the natural enzymes
present in food. Modern fruits and vegetables have been
specifically bred to reduce enzyme content to extend shelf
life (apples used to rot within 3 days if left out on the
kitchen counter - now they can sit there for weeks). So,
even if you eat a good bit of raw fruits and veggies, you
are still likely to be enzyme deficient once you reach
your 20's.

The Ox Bile/Bile Salts should be available in the health
food store. If not, it is contained in the Super Enzymes
available at: http://www.herbalhealer.com/ You can also
get a superior grade product called Bile Salts Extract at:
http://www.dews21.com/index.cfm

The health food store would also carry Swedish Bitters
which are a good natural way to stimulate your own
production of HCL (stomach acid). However, as most of us
age, our bodies simply can't produce enough and we need
to get Betaine HCL (with Pepsin) from the healthfood store.
At least one, 600mg.tablet/capsule, is need for any meals
containing protein (even vegetable protein).

For a very good, broad based digestive enzyme product,
check out the Biologic at: http://www.vygp.com/products/
It not only contains enzymes that have been specially
produced to be active within a wide range of pH (stomach
to intestine), but is also a potent source of the friendly
bacteria (probiotics & prebiotics) that are so necessary
to digestive health. Blue Green Algae is yet another
immune building ingredient in this powerful product.

> I just recently posted about my friend who did a liver cleanse but then had to have her GB removed because the doctor said it was only
functioning at 8%. She is struggling to eat. She can't eat anything without becoming nauseous. I tried to read some post-surgery GB letters to see what has been done. I read that it is good to eat foods with good fat to give the bile something to do. Is that correct? I would be anxious to hear from anyone with advice about how to help my friend. I'm not really sure what to do for her.

> Also I wondered if it is possible to repair the gall bladder? It seems that the liver can be repaired by Liver Cleansing and a good liver diet. I wondered if it would be the same for a gall bladder? I realize that there is a point of no repair, but I just don't know how fragile the gall bladder is. Does anyone have an opinion on this?
