Advice on treatment of electrocution burn victim please!

A month ago, my husband rescued a 14-year-old boy who had fallen on high tension electrical wires while climbing a tree. The boy seemed dead at the time, but he was successfully rescusitated and spent a month in the hospital, undergoing several surgeries in effort to repair the two large burn holes in his back which exposed his vertebrae. I was sad to learn today that his healing has been minimal, attempts at skin grafting have failed and he has been sent home. The doctors have essentially given up on him. I am unsure at this time of his complete health status, but hope to find out within a couple of hours exactly what his status is.

I appeal to anyone with any suggestions on what we can do to help this boy. I have more faith in the knowledgeable people who participate in these forums than in the established medical community! I hope someone can help us. My husband knows that I have been studying herbal medicine, but I am at a loss on this one (not to mention I am afraid of doing any harm to this child).

Please forgive me for posting this in inappropriate boards, but I am desperate and could not find a board that fit this circumstance.

Thanks!
JoAnn
