You know, and I may get thrown into the internet version of the stocks for saying this,I once read in a book about candida, that once it has reached its adult form, through Antibiotic use, the contraceptive pill, or whatever, the most one can ever hope for is to control it, and keep it in check. In other words, it is almost impossible to totally eliminate it, whereby sufferers can look forward to the day when they can be carefree with their diet, because even a normally healthy diet, as we well know, is food for candida.

Therefore, in a way, Jake is right in what he says. If you have candida overgrowth, it is something you might have to live with for the rest of your life, in that, even once you have it well under control, a piece of pie as a treat will find a spore and set the whole cycle up again. It might take a few months for you to notice it again, but notice it you will.

I have resigned myself to a candida maintenance capsule (I already know my supplier), that I will take forever when I have finished die off/leaky gut healed, etc. And if I can eat bread, even rye bread, and brown rice, and a few potatoes, and maybe a bit of honey I would be extremely happy. (How sad is that?)

But I just thought I would share, because maybe, just maybe, we cannot eliminate candida. Maybe its like the book said, once its out, its out,and theres no way of putting it back.

And before anyone starts hollering at me, its just what I read!

ps - stocks were an old English wooden contraption that held a criminal by his feet so that passers by could pelt him/her with tomatoes, rotten fruit, etc, by way of punishment for his misdemeanor.
