I have been to the opthalmologist--a very hard appointment to get---And was reviewed by 2 doctors. We covered the problem of "eye floaters" They checked my eyes thoroughly. Everything is O.K. although they noticed a slightly high level of cells in congealed masses. After mentioning the possibiliy of yeast, they told me they have seen it before in HIV patients, but a state of inflammation would exist, which would be very painful. In the case of cryptococcus neoformans, they would turn up as yellow spots. After I told them my "floaters" disappeared during my remission, they were quite thrown off by that. In any case, they have not seen anything serious develope from fungi in immunocompetent patients.
I still believe this is caused by yeast, but it is a benign strain, which has a very slow reproduction cycle, and poses little threat in other-wise healthy people.
