Re: Might I have a Candida problem?
First you might need to change your mind set – self defeating quotes like “Also i'm a very fussy eater and there's no way I can follow some of these diets i've read” may alter your body’s attempt to reach health (thoughts are very powerful!).
There typically is a general cleansing protocol that is suggested in this site that may be of help if you're willing to go through them.
Since you have been through quite a bit of
Antibiotics it is likely that you may suffer from some form of dysbiosis, and candida falls into that category.
Antibiotics wipe out your intestinal good bacteria flora, which is responsible for keeping pathogens at bay among other things. Since the good flora might have been displaced it allows the bad guys to come in unchecked (bad bacteria, fungus etc) and wreck havoc in your system.
The first thing to do is to try to replenish the good flora with probiotics. This means eating fermented food (non pasteurized) or taking probiotic supplements.
Next is to change your diet (yes some sacrifices may need to be made): there is a specific candida diet which basically eliminates all forms of carbohydrates including simple sugars (this is an aggressive approach and can work if your metabolism can be sustained and no other digestion issues).
At least as a start you need to replace any manmade processed dead food with natural one. That means no canned foods and drinks, no packaged food of any kind, just fresh natural food. This may be too “aggressive” to start for you but you may be well on your way to health by taking baby steps.
From what I gathered, it seems this may be more of a “surface” issue for you with no chronic symptoms so if you are energetic than it may be simpler to treat it; but your body is already showing warning signs that the diet and whatever you are doing (aka
Antibiotics ) is not working and with time you may fall into chronic disease state which extends healing time.
