Hello May,

I can tell you that I've never had pain - I don't experience the attack while
doing the cleanse. However, I know that there is at least one out here who
does and I'm sure he will chime in and give you some helpful words.

The fact that you passed a lot of stones is wonderful. My guess (I'm not a
medical professional) would be that you really had a LOT of them in there and
there was a great wave of them going out and this is what the pain was from.
If the exit of the gallbladder gets blocked, then the bile is unable to go
out and that's (from what I understand) what creates the pain of a
gallbladder attack. It might also have been from a large stone passing
through the bile duct, I think? Again, I'm not an expert, so take my
words with a grain of salt here. I'm just throwing out ideas.

As for the Epsom Salts , there are several things that you can do. You can
add some lemon juice to it, which cuts that metallic taste a bit. You can
also mix them in apple juice or grapefruit juice instead of water, which
might make them more palatable to you. You can also do the cleanse
without them, using large amounts of apple juice to create the laxative
effect to clean out the bowels. However, since you've experienced pain with
your cleanse, I'd think you'd probably want to still include them. Reports
say that the Epsom Salts also relax the bile duct or make them more pliable
than they already are to ease in the passage of stones. So for that aspect
of them, you'd probably want to still use them.

Now, the weakness after the flush. Have you been taking in a lot of fluid?
The diarrhea brought on by the Epsom Salts can be dehydrating and it's really
important to drink a lot of water to replenish that. I understand that the
body is also temporarily drained of some minerals in the process of flushing,
so it's important to try to replenish those. One way is to make a Potassium
Broth. If you're not familiar with this, I will post it in another email.

Finally, (in this very longwinded message!) I just wanted to say YES,
absolutely YES, you are doing the right thing in trying to avoid surgery.
There are some cases where surgery actually is necessary and that is
recognized out here. We had a guy not so long ago who really tried to avoid
it but he ended up having to go have it done because he was in too bad of a
condition. That happens, but more often people are successful in avoiding
it. There are also people on this list who have had the surgery who are
still doing the cleansing for the sake of their liver and bile ducts - to
keep them clear of stones. And the list goes on...

Whatever the case, you will find lots of support out here. I do hope that
you will keep us posted on your progress.

best of health to you,

Rachel~
