Interesting you say that...
I found out that I spent about 4 years living in an apartment filled with mold - I mean everywhere under the carpets, in the walls, in the ceiling. During that time I felt fine, was in my mid to late 20's. Went out drinking every weekend and was a smoker. Smoked about a pack and a half a day.
I quit smoking while living there - then moved into a new apartment a year after I was smoke free. About a year after living there I had the worst pain in the world in my lower back. I had never had any back issues what so ever, and out of the blue I was in intense pain from siatic nerve being pinched etc. Couldn't walk or even stand. That was what I term the begining of the end.
I started with terrible insomnia about 2 years after I stopped smoking (so the insominia is going back about 7 years now). I would fall asleep fine and the wake up every hour to hour to 2 hours.
The next thing that started was jock itch, ringworm and athlete's foot. PMS became insanely bad. Had constant rage, sex drive very quickly dropped off to nothing. After that the muscles of my lower back went into permanent spasms that I had to have steriod/saline injections into to help release them. Also had multiple rounds of cortizone shots into the spine for the back pain. My face and neck muscles spasmed next. I couldnt breath, literally. My whole throat spasmed almost shut. for this I was diagnosed with... get this... a sinus infection! even though I had never had one before in my life and had no mucus or discharge, even an ENT specialist stuck a camera up my sinuses and saw no infection (found out when I requested my medical records) but was give predizone for 6 months... that's right... 6 months! The doctor had the balls to tell me when I complained about wegith gain that I obviously couldnt keep food out of my mouth as other people never gained weight on predizone. I was gaining a pound a day. oh and during all this my menstrual cycle decided that it wanted to shorten itself to 9 days. Yup, for 9 months I was getting my period every 9 days and it would last 10-14 days each time.
Shortly after this I was diagonsed with Hypothyroidism by my very open minded osteopath. Started thyroid meds and was feeling pretty good although the weight didnt come off. that was Jan of 04. Sept of 04 I had a complete crash. My body stopped metabolising hte medication completely. I gained 35
pounds in 4 weeks. Sonce then I have been fighting to get to where I can function as a person again. Only thing that has helped me so far is the nutritional pharmacist I met who is working with me on a micronutrient level. I can almost stay awake for 10 hours at a time now.
