Candida-like symptoms from Blastocystis H. needs different treatment

Candida-like symptoms can occur from Blastocystis Hominis infections, which is a bacteria, not a yeast. (maybe some of us here have it instead or in addition to candida). Apparently people with it, or with another bacteria problem called D. Fragilis, have most of the candida symptoms, but anti-fungal treatment will not cure these people. low Sugar low starch diets bring improvements, but short lived, as taking anti-fungal products don't kill these bacteria all the way, and they just come back.

However, here is a site that lists feedback from people who tried prescription protocols against B. Hominis and D. Fragilis infections, and many of whom did permanently heal themselves, able to eat normally etc:

http://www.badbugs.org

Note that although the symptoms of B. Hominis or D. Fragilis are often diarrea, they are not always - so just not having diarrea is not a realiable test for whether someone may have the bug or not.

Several sources said that B. Hominis and Candida coexist in a good number of people who have IBS symptoms, and that anti-bacterial Antibiotics (yup, Antibiotics , but very specific ones only) are needed in these cases to first kill the B. Hominis, and then an anti-candida program followed after that when the anti-fungals have a better chance of working, without the B. Hominis in the way. the site mentioned explaines some of this.

really interesting reading.
