Are you familiar with cultured vegetables? Well, the vegetables are cultured with several strains of lactobacteria. Unlike my little brother, lactobacteria are not picky eaters. Don't be too concerned about the lactobacteria. If you're eating, so are they. If all the claims made about FOS are true, and that's a big if, it may be very usefull stuff. The claims are that human beings and candida can't digest it, but the lactobacteria can. So, potentially we have a way to selectively feed the lactobacteria and starve the candida. There still is a lot controversy surrounding the use of FOS.
