Why bother. It is a waste of your energy and effort here to go back and forth. We are all here not only trying to find the answers for our own health , but sincerely trying to help others as you are doing.

The body should be in homeostasis, middle ground ( alkaline) and yes the intestines should be acidic and yes they are two entirely different things. You are right.

Moreless is right also about the body being acidic and allowing bad bacteria carte blanche.

both statements are true

However to moreless

we are all aware of the whole alkaline thing and how to get there. There has been much talk on the board regarding this issue. However the requirements to become alkaline are things that unfortunatley out of our reach at this point...such as eating bananas. See, even though bananas may be good for the digestive tract, they feed the candida, which is already very strong and many of us have lots of trouble metabolizing Sugar of any kinds because of candida robbing us of minerals needed to do such. Therefore that eliminates that as an option at this time in treatment. At this time , most ( don't shoot me if you are not one of these people, you know who you are ) of us are trying to get minerals and as many of the alkaline forming foods into us as possible without feeding the beaties. Some foods require that they be raw to be alkaline, there lies another problem. Some of us have troubled digestion and cannot handle raw foods which tend to slow our digestion again making the situation better for candida. We need to tred lightly and with forethought here. Once we have seen improvement and are recovering, we can really go at it and work on alkanizing so this does not happen again.

You are obviously schooled on fungi and bacterias, but candida is not just a bacteria, it is living in our bodies and so we cannot just address the bacteria but must also consider the effects on our body.

I liken this to if someone is having a heart attack it is a little too late then to give that person some oatmeal and unclog arteries, or flaxseed oil. Of course that is good for the heart, but when having a heart attack you now need emergency intervention and all the vitamins, foods and exercise in the world will not help until your artery is unclogged and you are recovering somewhat, then you can add those heart friendly habits into your routine and they will do some good.

Well, my friend, those of us with candida are in the heart attack phase. Eating bananas is not going to help us now and may even make us much much worse.

So , while I appreciate your passion and knowledge on the subject, don't think it is not something we have not all considered and are trying to attain.

Michelle
