Re: vodka

Think we are talking occasional drinking here? Totally agree with Charles - and I have been on a restricted diet for years!

If I do drink, my choice is always vodka on the rocks. Infact strangely, I have often had less of a reaction to the odd meal out (with all the wrong foods) when I have had a vodka (usually an expresso coffee too). I have never been able to work out why this is? Interesting that vodka is alkaline....

I was told by a food allergist years ago that the mixers can give you more of a reaction than the alcohol. He also said wine was ok if it was "chateau bottled". ie fine, expensive wines (less additives?). So if you have the cash?!
