Re: Need some help with a vegan candida diet

I know when I switched to macro-vegan (vegan with fish allowed)... it helped me enormously. I mostly ate greens, legumes... I also ate bread and fruit at that time. I cut out nearly all refined sugars.

I think for me, my improvement then was based on three main things... having a regular meal of just greens eg green beans/peas/sprouts every morning and during the rest of the day eating a wide variety of healthy foods avoiding meats which tend to putrefy and refined sugars which tend to aid candida and bad bacteria.

A vegan diet is quite tough to stick to - but probably not as tough as a really strict candida diet (no sugars, no fruit no bread.). Personally I think it's almost impossible to shift the candida completely anyway so better to wear it down gradually with a healthy Diet that's easier to stick to long term. Candida naturally lives in harmony with the body at lower levels. I would imagine that after a prolonged period of being on a healthy Diet a new equilibrium would be reached in the bowel restoring normal levels of candida and good bacteria. That's my plan of action right now. It's still a challenge to avoid treats like chocolate and most packaged food containing preservatives etc but I'm succeeding so far and I've seen some improvement. My skin conditions have improved greatly and my bloating has improved somewhat.

There is the possibility that Antibiotics & hormones used in the production of meat also contribute to candida, poor bowel motility and dysbiosis, but I am unsure to what extent.
