To Cashlyn/Amanda
I got it in a natural foods supermarket (Mustard Seed Market). It's simply a loaf of bread that's made of spelt flour instead of the typical wheat flour. If you go to any natural food store, I'm sure they would have some, plus other types you may want to look into. They also carry various types of pasta. I was consuming the rice pasta, but found out I have an allergy (although low) to rice, so I couldn't keep eating that all of the time.
Again, I don't know if it's the best choice while fighting candida and what the allergy issues might be for each individual person, but after having a consultation with my naturopath, he said first and foremost, "you have to eat." It sounds simple enough, but with all that all of us are going through, sometimes we lose sight of that, always trying to eat the "perfect" food(s). A key part to achieving health is eating a balanced diet. If you're eating organic and eating things you aren't allergic to, that's most of the battle. Sometimes it doesn't always jive with the anti-candida diets out there, but have you noticed how many ARE actually out there and how many sometimes contradict one another?
Another thing he told me was to eat whole foods, avoid the processed stuff and you're on the rigth track. It makes sense.
I know now what my previous downfalls were in my diet - eating TONS of processed
Sugar (candy and soda pop), eating tons of processed foods, etc... I've eliminated all of that stuff. So now, even if I eat some foods that aren't on the anti-candida list, they're oraganic and natural and whole. Because of my allergies, I have to go beyond the scope of what many anti-candida diets say - but I make every effort to stay healthy and make sure it's organic, so at least I'm not putting the "bad" stuff in my system any longer. I really think that's the ultimate key when it comes to diet.
