Re: coconut oil in cooking

> Hi! I was just wondering how I can determine whether I have bile insufficiency. Actually, I have had chronic diarrhea for approx. the last 5 weeks and this may have altered the bile, etc. in my stomach. According to blood and stool tests that I've recently had done, my body seems to be absorbing electrolytes and nutrients, and there was no bacteria found in my stool. So I'm supposedly "healthy". But I'm not sure how the diarrhea might be affecting the composition of other things in my system. What do you think? Thanks!

Hi Jessers,
I don't know enough about you. Presumably you have candida (this is a candida board - doh!).

Chronic diarhrea is not good. You will almost certainly be short of electrolytes and possibly some nutrients.

If you can tolerate other oils fine, but not coconut oil, then my guess is that the heated coconut oil does not agree with your constitution. In which case try melting it onto food rather than cooking with it. I personally don't do well with cooked coconut oil.

If you can't tolerate large amounts of any oil, then your fat digestion capacity needs improving.

JV.
