Re: What I learned during my 8 month shootout with Candida
Great to hear the good news!
Just a couple thoughts.
So, did you get rid of your candida totally- you did not mention that in the post, just implied.
Oh, dr.Dough Graham and his 8/1/1 plan. It has been a while since I heard about it, read, heard from the man himself, experienced- for most people it does not work and in the long term you WILL run into big problems; but again, you include grains, which are big no-no in his plan.
Nevermind, candida feeds of the sugar, fruit or not, but your are right- liver is the real deal and is responsible for setting
Sugar level in the blood, it's not the pancreas that set the
Sugar level, but liver, so in a big way it is liver that feeds or not that damn candida. But in essence, it is incorrect to say that 8/1/1 cures systemic candidasis.
It is possible you had more energy not because of fruits and veggies, but because you abandoned cooked protein and fat, junk protein and fat so to speak. Eating high carb food certainly does not equal more energy. Don't blame fats and protein for being low energy. Of course, most of us are not intuits or eskimos, but is way over the board to get into 8/1/1. For me, high
Sugar (fruits) diet gave me more energy only for a while. I am feeling better on more fat! I mean clean fat.
It is incorrect to state that you body converts fat to sugar and it is also incorrect to imply that carbs are main source of you body's energy. Fats cannot be converted to sugar! In rare metabolic cases or in extreme situations (such as starvation, extreme low carb) fat is being converted to ketones which is the only alternative to sugar. Your liver makes every effort to set as stable blood sugar level as possible because brain needs steady supply of sugar, as well you red blood cells, adrenals, kidneys, sperm (for males) that'sd abut it. Sugar is main source of energy for muscles only in times of sudden mobilisation of muscles as in running and other high intensity activity. Jay Robb has a good research of proportions of fat/sugar used in excersises. In general, the slower pace, the more fat is used. Fat is you body's preffered source of fuel, not carbs! It is all about fat. Fat is the main source of energy for you muscles, inc. heart. Liver, intestines also feed on fat.
I think we shouldn't forget about antifungals- why abandon great tools in the to fighting off candida? Yes,
Liver-Flush comes first, but quality oregano oil, olive leaf and other natural antifungals should not be discounted.
In my humble oppinion we should watch sugar consumption even if it comes from lots of fruits even when our main goal- LF.
Liver Flush is the way to go, but candida still feeds of sugar and may very well be just a part of systemic bacterial and other partasitic organisms dysbiosis.
