Candida: no quick cure?

From what I have read in this forum, there is no quick cure for candida. Healing is a long progressive process, and I wonder sometimes if any remedy we take makes a world of difference in the long run.
Candida seems to happen when the intestinal flora gets out of whack, because of prolonged stress or use of Antibiotics mostly. This intestinal balance has to be rebuilt slowly, there is no going around that. In my case, I had candida 9 years ago, after a period of stress. I did not follow any diet, nor took any remedies, but once the stress was gone, my body went back to health all by itself in a year or so.
I just had a relapse, for the same reason: one year of very hard stress. I have been following the diet for 3 months, and it seems to have taken the edge of the symptoms. But for Chronic-Fatigue-Syndrome or candidiasis--they might be linked anyhow--I have still to read about a quick recovery caused by taking a particular substance. The body has to rebalance itself on its own time, period.
What do you think? Any evidence to the contrary?
