We have family and friends in the area, especially southern Louisiana. My aunt and cousins are safe in Baton Rouge and about 1/2 of my friends have checked in as ok so far, still waiting to hear on others.

My brother has yet to be heard from, last known to be in Gulfport, MS. It's doubtful he stayed in the area but we just don't know right now.

Just last year we were living over there. Still seems a bit surreal right now.
