Is this a sign?

My husband and I are from Michigan. We've lived here all of our lives. We went to Florida for a week starting Monday September 6 seeking jobs and a new home in a warmer climate. This was one week after Charlie. We found work and a place to live in Venice, FL. Everything fell into place rather quickly. Since then Frances hit Florida and now Ivan is on the way. Is this a sign that we should avoid Florida? We plan on moving September 25th, as long as our new home is still standing. All the paperwork is signed. Our new neighbors in Florida said they have never seen weather like this in the 60 years they've lived there. My family thinks we're nuts for moving. All my life I've wanted to be closer to the ocean and far far away from the snow. What a time for so many hurricanes.
