I didn't know Alikat lived in FL but I was very concerned about Owen as I know he lives on the coast.

I am in St Lucie county which was hard hit but my house was not badly damaged. It was a nightmarish experience even riding it out in a well built house and I believe next time I will GET OUT! I just got power today and was sure hoping to see some positive post from Owen about how he came through unscathed.

It was an interesting experience in that I knew that I was in God's hands and all would be well even if I were not to survive. However! I somehow could not convince my stomach which was very nervous and anxious about the whole thing. At one point I heard on the radio that a tornado was spotted a half mile from my house and I somehow managed to fold up a heavy futon mattress in half, drag it across the house and stuff it into a small closet to form a tent over myself and my 21 month old granddaughter who is living with us. We were alone because my husband was required to stay at work and even though I knew he had no choice, my stomach was upset about that too!

I hope Alikat and Owen and anyone else affected will please post and let us know they're ok. I'm praying for their safety and comfort. It's a very stressful thing. Tweet
