prove to me there is a God... you say...
is it not a fact that you live today...
God is in every breath you take...
and all around you for goodness sake...

you're like the little fish in the ocean...
that suddenly comes up with the notion...
what is water...? where shall i look...?
as he searches every cranny and nook...

to thine self be true...
the answers are inside of you...
one need not search within a book...
one only needs an inner look...

to look outside... you'll miss the point...
and get your nose bent out of joint...
one must let go of old beliefs...
if one expects to find relief...

your temple stands within your shoes...
to believe exactly as you choose...
don't take the word of other men...
you have not been where they have been...

find the love within your heart...
that is where one needs to start...
if one seeks God... do not despair...
within your heart... you'll find Him there...

your life is yours alone to live...
to find the gifts you have to give...
you need not ever feel alone...
God loves you to the very bone...

i cannot find your way for you...
that is something only you can do...
but i can tell you where not to look...
don't seek your answers in a book...

as we go through life seeking to learn...
we're missing life at every turn...
freedom comes from letting go...
not in what you think you know...
