I've heard of it but personally never tried it. I used to have social anxiety and I found that as I got healthier through diet and cleansing it went away. I still occasionly do experience some anxiety around people on days that I dont feel good, but when I have good energy(which is becoming more and more often)I dont have anxiety anymore. Another good way to help social anxiety is just by observing others who are at ease and practice imitating them. Dont go up to people and try to make friends at first, just start practicing striking conversations with people anywhere you go. It will get easier and soon you'll notice that you arent so anxious anymore. Affirmations can also be helpful. They work the same as hypnosis though probably dont get results as quick. Remember that all emotional problems are a sign of imbalance in the body and when you correct that imbalance they go away, dont think theres anything wrong with you. Good Luck
