Re: Hair Analysis or Blood Test for Copper?
I'm not sure if hair analysis is better for detection of copper than a blood test, but when I got a work-up done at the Pfeiffer Treatment Center in Illinois, they did both hair and blood tests to determine levels of toxicity for many things. They also did a urine test. I think that it can be helpful to do a combination of tests since, for example, hair tests will test for chemicals that blood tests cannot detect, and there can be multiple toxicities.
One good testing lab is the Great Smokies Lab.
Also, are you familiar with orthomolecular medicine? I kind of disagree with the use of synthetic supplements for treatment, but doctors like Abram Hoffer and Carl Pfeiffer made major discoveries about the relationship of mental problems and nutrition. Two good books that I have read that talk about copper imbalances and orthomolecular medicine are:
"Nutrition and Mental Illness" by Carl Pfeiffer
"Natural Healing for Schizophrenia" by Eva Edelman
