Re: panic attacks...mental or physical problem?

Hi, I feel for you because I know just how terrible it is to experience either the attacks or just the anxiety. I'm here simply to give my opinions; I can't prove anything.
I believe that panic is caused by unresolved issues in life brought on by emotional trauma. A herbalist will tend to say you need herbs. A psychiatrist will say you need drugs and a counselor will say you need to talk.
It's where the money is.
You need all the above. And one other thing: time. Time for your brain to come to grips with whatever started all this. You have to talk about it endlessly to someone who cares. Someone who will listen to hundreds of hours of it. You need time to analyze in your Own mind what is bothering you, why it happened, and how you can resolve it all and move on in peace. Drugs, at first, can and do block anxiety. But many people find they start increasing the dosage. Then, if they start to back off of the higher dose they get worse anxiety. I know; I've been thru it all. It's a vicious circle. I forever got anxiety in drugstores until I discovered Why. When I was sure Why this happened in drugstores it stopped. Best of Luck, aster ps one way to almost guarantee an attack is to not get enough sleep. YOu need sleep.
