Another "old" love story...
That is such a sweet story. Yes, that was true love. I have my own personal story, I'll try to make it short. I tend to be long winded. :-)
I think I mentioned my mom passed away in May, 2003. She had been diagnosed with cancer in March of 2002.
Daddy is a baptist preacher, STILL AT 81 :-) and we, of course all prayed for moms healing, but daddy wanted us to pray that if it wasn't God's will that she be healed (she was 79) that would God please not let her suffer. She did NOT suffer.
I guess if anyone can have a good case of terminal cancer, mom did. Most of the time, she was chipper, laughing, talking, we'd sit and read to her (she LOVED stories with meaning, and good clean jokes).
My sisters and I had a gospel trio when we were teenagers, and we'd sit around her hospital bed..or at home and sing 3 part harmony, & we'd stop and she'd say, sing...so and so.
She passed away in her sleep with all of us standing around holding on to her. Daddy bought 12 plots at our little city cemetery, so he could make a little "park". He bought a park bench, we planted flowers around the two trees, there are ferns, it is so beautiful and peaceful in her little "park". At first, daddy went out there 5 times a day, for months. When winter came on, we talked him into cutting it down to 3 times a day. He just goes out and sits in his little wrought iron love seat and talks to her. He's there at daylight, noon and when the sun goes down. He WAS going mid morning and mid afternoon. One of my favorite sayings is, "The very best love stories have no ending!" Their love story will never end.
Thanks for all your great posts, Corey.
