I don't know about a house, but when going into forest with a tent or just with a sleeping bag, I was told to carry old used motor oil, and to saok some cotton bond, and to stretch it arount the tent, fix it to the ground.

I know it may be polluting nature, but people who used it sware that no snake will approach tent if you have old used motor oil around.

You can take a cotton bond (cut old bedsheets), saok it into the used oil (you can get it on the gas station), and stretch it around the house. Once sanake leave, they will not return.
