Re: Was that a support post on a support forum, Swing71??
Unfortunately it's just like a Christian to be in an Atheist support forum trying to force their beliefs on all the UNCLEAN! ha ha. really, how much of your own christian history have you studied?
Have you read about the Catholic beginnings of your religion? Have you read about the murder, mutilations and torture in the name of christianity? Have you ever read about the catholics in the 15th century, the little ways they edited the bible to make man responsible to the church rather than to himself for his actions. How else could they talk a group of gentle, peaceful, uneducated people into rushing into war - sacrificing their lives and killing others unless they were convinced they might burn in a sea of neverending flame for disobedience. What about the tithe? Do you really think Jesus asked that of anyone? No, the catholics did because they also needed to fund a holy war.
Have you ever read about the years between Jesus' childhood and his adult years when he re-enters the bible story, how he studied with tibetan buddhists to attain a state of spiritual enlightenment that only few possess. Have you ever read about others who have concentrated their will and power to obtain control over matter and physical state of being - who have reached such a high plane of spiritual enlightenment that they know themselves completely and are in touch with the divinity within. I have no doubt they could also walk on water.
I'm not trying, by the way, to convince you that my way is the right way. I don't care what you choose to believe. I am only raising some questions for thought, remember though, curiosity killed the christian.
