West Nile in Canada

Where I am in western Canada, the next two weeks are apparently going to be the most populated with the mosquito that carries west nile.

In two towns each about 20 miles away, they have trapped so many mosquitos that are carrying west nile, that they have decided to spray (fog) this weekend.

So which is worse fogging or west nile?

Who exactly gets sick with west nile?

Is West Nile a true concern, or just media hype?
