CDC Reports on West Nile Virus Activity

Arizona leads the nation with 20 reported cases of West Nile Virus activity, according to the latest statistics released by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Thirty-two human cases have been reported to CDC this season as of June 22, 2004. Of the 32 cases, 14 were reported as West Nile fever, 16 were reported as West Nile meningitis or encephalitis (neuroinvasive disease), and 2 were clinically unspecified at this time.
