I've been sober for many years, and those steps still work for me :)

Those steps may look simple, but each one has a purpose and a meaning.

All it took was being brutally honest with myself, and taking each step seriously without looking for shortcuts.

I took the shortcut through detox, the Lybrium took away the physical cravings for alcohol. Whether I took Lybrium or an herbal medicine, it would still be trading one dependency for another, they are only a mask that covers a deeper underlying problem.
What got you in the mess you were in? The answer is: it was you that went over the edge until alcohol controlled you!

The 12 steps is a tool for taking control of your life. It builds honesty and moral character, even for someone that were never addicted.

For anyone that has found the shortcut by taking a potion that cured you. I wish you well in your recovery with many blessings.

Someone may feel the 12 steps may not apply to them, but they have been a blessing and an answer to prayers by many people.

The steps are there for anybody that wants to try them.
