I think it's just eye mucus but a really really lot of it. I have always had a problem with lots of mucus in my eyes. It actually feels really good to get this stuff out!

As an aside, my left eye appears to be improving, though very slowly. I still have a dark crooked line in my vision, but many of the other smaller floaters seem to have disappeared.
