Can you RESTART IN M-S DOS MODE? Depending on what version of Windows, you might not be able to, you might not be given the OPTION, but you might be able to reboot while pressing the f-8 key to give you some other options. The important thing is that you want to get into DOS without also running Windows, because as long as Windows is not running, DOS will allow you to delete the rogue (virus) files. If you can go into DOS, you'll have much more control over what files exist on your hard drive. Read my other posts about using DOS and you'll be amazed at what sneaks onto our computers. Today's viruses are probably being made with artificial intelligence and are probably sharing technology with adware.

One thing that you can do right now is...
Press CTRL-ALT-DELETE (only once, not twice)
Press these three keys all at the same time and release.

This will show you a list of what is running on your computer at that very moment. I don't know how to decipher any of these names and what is actually needed for a properly functioning computer, but you might even recognize some names from my posts, then you can highlight it and click END TASK, this won't delete it, but it will be easier to take control of your computer.
