Alternative (looney) view of Barrett's

Scheduled for my 2nd EGD tomorrow, was looking over the web on some Barrett's items and found this humorous summary of Barrett's. Plan to give to my internist tomorrow to see if I have lost any memory since my first EGD last year (pun of course). Rather amusing summary of Barrett's though.

Barrett's Syndrome, named after the alchemist/mage/herbalist who first identified and cured this disease, is a degenerative disorder that affects the mind of the victim. It is caused by a virus that contaminates the flesh of animals (notably, cattle and hogs) and infects other creatures when contaminated meat is eaten.

The disease slows the operation of the brain, resulting in a noticeable decrease in intelligence, loss of balance, slurred speech, slow thought processes, a short attention span and a slow, shuffling gait. There is also memory loss that may be very severe. Some patients have been known to forget that they have families or where they live.

The disease runs its course in about three weeks. It is seldom fatal. Unless cured early with magic, there is a mild but permanent loss of intelligence.
